England batter Harry Brook ripped into veteran West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell in the final over of the 3rd T20I between the two sides.

Chasing 223 in Grenada on Saturday 16 December, England needed 21 off the final over. Russell, who earned the player of the match award in the 1st T20I took the ball in his hands. England youngster Harry Brook who had just played 2 balls before the final over, smashed Russell all around the park hitting 4,6,6,2,6 to win the game for England with one ball to spare. The batter remained unbeaten on 31 off just 7 balls.

With the help of Brook, England completed the highest successful T20I chase in the West Indian soil and also kept the series alive. After 3 matches, England trail 2-1 against the home side.

This was a tremendous audition for Brook right ahead of the India Premier League 2024 auction. Last season, the player was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for a massive sum of Rs 13.25 crore, but was not able to do well in his first visit to India. Brook hit one century against the Kolkata Knight Riders and had a string of single-digit scores to his name, visibly struggling against spin.

The England youngster revived his form and did decently well in the Ashes 2023, helping England earn a 2-2 draw against Australia. The batter did well in The Hundred, earning himself a late entry into the England ODI World Cup squad. in England’s disastrous campaign in the world tournament, Brook hit a half-century – against Afghanistan.

The player is expected to earn interest from IPL franchise this year as well, but it is unlikely that he will fetch an astronomical price like last year.
