Vision Search in association with Janitri International conducted a Webinar on ‘Mother Leadership’ on 26th March 2023.
Mona Mehra organized the webinar to recognize and honor the contributions made by Mothers in nation building. The role of a mother can be played by any gender but the role requires loads of work and skills as we are building another human from the scratch and making a Family. A mother is a Family maker.
Vision Search helps people make happy homes by defining various aspects of home making so that there is respect and pride in the work and increased productivity and efficiency at the workplace. The webinar was attended by eminent people from different walks of life.
Their designations and titles were not mentioned as a mark of respect to mothers as they do not come with any fancy titles but their work speaks volumes. Mona Mehra and Vasudha Arora were the host of the webinar.
Sandeep Gupta, Rekha Pandey, Hitesh Chandel, GarimaVerma, Archana Mittal, Raina Khatri Tandon, VandanaTeji, Ashok Kamal attended and shared their valuable insights.
Many insights were shared to the question if mothers are born leaders or the skills get acquired along the way.
A mother is an instinctive leader and leads as per the situation which keeps changing moments to moments.
She leads with empathy and children learn life skills along the way. She is also a servant leader who sacrifices and is tolerant and puts the needs of the child above her and gives more than expected. We are all work in progress and the skills of the mother gets to be polished and new skills learned along the way.
Motherhood does not come with any set rules or manuals and a child has to be groomed for the society and both parents are complementary forces and their influence is required in shaping a holistic future leader. A child requires development of both the left and right brain as both emotional understanding as well as tactical skills are required.
A child comes biologically through parents but is an individual entity and should be groomed with ethics, values and morals. Lead the child with self-regulation and self-awareness as we need to constantly keep a check on ourselves and evolve and transform to a better person as the child will follow everything a mother does. Our actions get copied and followed and it is important to walk the talk.
A child is an individual entity and should be taught to voice their opinions and to think for themselves so that they can stand up for themselves.
The discussion was informative and insightful and many aspects of development of the child were discussed as well as the leadership styles to be followed by the mother. We plan to do a larger discussion to include more in the society for more awareness on the topic as nations depend on grooming holistic leaders of tomorrow and more self-aware parents showing them the way.
