“Truth will prevail,” said BRS MLC K Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, reacting to her name appearing in the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) related to the Delhi Liquor Scam.

The ED, in its chargesheet, has alleged that Kavitha, along with a few others, paid kickbacks to the tune of Rs 100 crore to Aam Aadmi Party’s Vijay Nair for facilitating liquor business in New Delhi when the new excise policy was brought in by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government.

Replying to BJP’S Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy’ s tweet calling her “Liqour Queen” and that her name has been mentioned 28 times in the chargesheet, Kavitha said, “Say 28 times or even 28 thousand times that my name is mentioned but a lie is not true.”

Congress MP Manickam Tagore also launched a scathing attack on Kavitha after he tagged her on Twitter and wrote, “Lot explanations.” Replying to Tagore, the BRS MLC said, “The accusations on me are completely bogus and false. Only time will prove my sincerity. It’s a political vendetta of BJP, as they fear BRS Party Chief CM KCR’s expose on their anti-farmer and pro-capitalist policies.”

Kavitha, according to the ED, had several phone conversations regarding the liquor business, and a few meetings with the accused took place at her Hyderabad residence.
