Delhi Police received two successive calls on Monday morning, both originating from the Chief Minister’s residence in Civil Lines, police sources said.

The caller, claiming to be AAP leader Swati Maliwal, dialled emergency services after allegedly being assaulted. In one of the calls, which was made around 9:30 AM, the caller claimed she was assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar.

However, after a police team arrived at the location and brought Maliwal to the station, sources said. According to protocol, Delhi Police cannot enter the Chief Minister’s house without prior permission.

DCP North Manoj Meena said, “One PCR call at 9:34 AM has been received at PS Civil Lines from a lady saying she was assaulted at Chief Minister’s house. After some time, MP madam came to PS Civil Lines, but she left stating she would file a complaint later.”

VISIT TO CM’S HOUSE, THEN CALLS TO COPS

Police sources said Swati Maliwal arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence around 9:10 AM this morning seeking a meeting with Arvind Kejriwal. However, she was denied a meeting by his personal staff.

Following this, at 9:31 AM, Maliwal contacted the police control room seeking assistance. Her call was subsequently transferred to the North control room at 9:34 AM.

India Today TV accessed the police diary entry detailing the two PCR calls that were allegedly made from the Chief Minister’s house. In the first call, the caller claimed that they were at the Chief Minister’s residence, where the Chief Minister had a fight with his aide, Bibhav Kumar.

Police said after they received the second call, they made a correction in the diary entry. Identifying the caller as a woman, the entry states she “was at the Chief Minister’s House, where he instructed his aide Bibhav Kumar to beat her up brutally”.

Bibhav Kumar was personal assistant to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He was terminated from his services last month after being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in a case in which he was accused of obstructing government work.

SWATI MALIWAL MEETS COPS
The North control room promptly dispatched officers to the Chief Minister’s house, and the Station House Officer (SHO) also arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence shortly thereafter.

After discussions with the SHO, Maliwal agreed to accompany the police to the station, according to police sources. During this time, reports of an assault on Maliwal began circulating.

After a period of questioning, Swati Maliwal left the police station, the sources said. No written complaint has been filed yet.

India Today TV reached out to Swati Maliwal for her statement, but she was not available.

Reacting to the alleged incident, BJP IT Cell in-charge Amit Malviya said in a post on X, “Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was in fact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time.”

Swati Maliwal is the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women. She became a Rajya Sabha MP after the Aam Aadmi Party, headed by Arvind Kejriwal, nominated her.
