Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Dia Mirza Asks For ‘Written Apology’ For Rhea Chakraborty As CBI Rules Out Foul Play

Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, and their family have been officially cleared by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

After years of speculation and intense scrutiny, the agency concluded there was no evidence of foul play in Rajput’s tragic death at the age of 34 in his Mumbai apartment in 2020. Back in September 2020, Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) over a drug-related case linked to the late actor’s death.

Meanwhile, actress Dia Mirza has reacted to the CBI’s closure report and said that the media owes Rhea an apology. Taking to Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborthy and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harrasment just for TRP’s. Apologise. That’s the very least you can do.

Rhea’s legal counsel, Satish Maneshinde, also weighed in on the development, shedding light on the hardships Rhea and her family endured throughout the investigation. He emphasized that despite no wrongdoing, Rhea spent 27 days in jail before being granted bail. “I salute her and her family for having kept silent and yet suffered the inhuman treatment they were meted,” Maneshinde stated. He revealed that Rhea’s family had approached him through close friends and defense personnel known from his Sainik School days. He further disclosed how his legal team, alongside Rhea’s family, faced relentless threats and harassment but remained steadfast in their pursuit of justice.

Maneshinde also strongly opposed the media frenzy around the case. He criticized the false stories spread on social media and news platforms, saying that the lockdown caused more misinformation as people spent more time on their screens with fewer events happening.
