‘Stree 2’ song ‘Khoobsurat’: Varun-Shraddha’s chemistry makes Rajkummar jealous

The new song from ‘Stree 2’ was released on Friday, August 9. Featuring Shraddha Kapoor as the unbelievably beautiful, ‘Stree’, the song titled ‘Khoobsurat’ seemed like a pacy romantic track.

It starred both Varun Dhawan and Rajkummar Rao as the men fighting to get Shraddha’s attention, while Abhishek Banerjee appeared as a comic relief.

Sung by Vishal Mishra and Sachin-Jigar, with music by Sachin-Jigar, the song acted like an ode to Shraddha’s beauty. The actor looked lovely in a red saree and her signature big nose-pin as part of her character in the film. ‘Khoobsurat’ has lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, who writes in a simple fashion to make it all click instantly. The hook-line in the song doesn’t take long to register: ‘Koi itna khoobsurat kaise ho sakta hai [how can one be this beautiful?]’ – as effortless as that.

The film’s music has already found popularity among the audience, and ‘Khoobsurat’ is only going to add to it. It is an easy track with a flirtatious tone, and all other elements that are meant to make it a viral number, at least among romance seekers. The song also marks Varun’s ‘Bhediya’ entering the ‘Stree’ universe. It is yet to be seen how the ending of ‘Stree 2’ gives a shout-out to ‘Bhediya 2’, another upcoming film in Maddock’s supernatural franchise.

The buzz around ‘Stree 2’ is good. The film features Shraddha, Rajkummar and Abhishek reprising their roles from ‘Stree’, released in 2018. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khuranna in other important roles. The film is slated to hit the screens on August 15, as the big Independence Day release.
