Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma included as BCCI name India A squad for 2nd and 3rd unofficial Tests vs England Lions

Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh have been added to the India A squad for the second and third unofficial Tests against England Lions on January 19, Friday.

Tilak and Rinku were part of the Indian T20I squad for the series against Afghanistan, which concluded recently. Rinku would impress everyone with his performances once again as he scored a vital 69 not out in the final T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru.

Tilak played the first match against Afghanistan but would make way to accommodate the returning Virat Kohli in the team lineup.

The UP batter, however, would only be available for the third unofficial Test, while Tilak has been added to the squad for both the matches.

Apart from Rinku and Tilak, Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh also make their way from the T20I squad to the side for the unofficial Tests against the England Lions. Abhimanyu Easwaran will be leading the side in both the matches.

England Lions set for win in first unofficial Test
In the first unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, England Lions dominated with a strong batting performance, declaring at 553/8. Keaton Jennings scored a notable 154, setting a solid foundation for the team.

India A struggled in response, with Rajat Patidar standing out by scoring a fighting 151 off 158 balls. Despite his efforts, India A trailed significantly before the England Lions gave them a tough target of 490 runs to win the match.

India A would end the play on Friday with a score 159 for four as England Lions close in on the win.
