Ranbir Kapoor’s film, ‘Animal’, was recently granted an ‘A’ certificate by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Its runtime was also revealed to be more than 3 hours! According to new reports, the OTT version is expected to be 30 minutes longer than the original runtime, that is, 3 hours and 21 minutes. ‘Animal’, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles.

OTT VERSION OF ‘ANIMAL’ EXPECTED TO BE 30 MINUTES LONGER
‘Animal’, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, explores the father-son relationship between Ranbir and Anil’s characters. The runtime of ‘Animal’ is 3 hours and 21 minutes and the OTT version is said to be even longer.

Speaking about the lengthy runtime of the film, Ranbir Kapoor said in a statement, “The story of ‘Animal’ requires this amount of time to reach the audience. We saw the first cut that was 3 hours and 49 mins and we were entertained. Don’t be panicked by the length and just come experience cinema at its best.”

Reportedly, the makers had planned to release the longer version in theatres with two intervals. However, this was a risky move. The distributors wanted to play it safe as well, so a few scenes were edited to cut short the final runtime to 3 hours and 21 minutes for the theatrical version.

The OTT version will likely feature this extended runtime, reports suggest.

ABOUT ‘ANIMAL’
After ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Animal’ is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s second Bollywood film. It is slated for a theatrical release on December 1, and will clash with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur.’ The film was earlier scheduled to release in August, but due to a clash with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’, the director postponed the date.

Anil Kapoor plays the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s father Balbir Singh in ‘Animal’. Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as Geetanjali, Ranbir’s love interest. Bobby Deol will play the role of antagonist.
