Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who portrayed the character of Jana in Amar Kaushik’s ‘Stree 2,’ revealed that Rajkummar Rao improvised a costly version of the popular song ‘Calm Down’ for the film.
This improvisation added an extra expense of Rs 25 lakh to the production. ‘Stree 2’ is currently enjoying a successful run at the box office, having surpassed the Rs 500-crore mark worldwide. Abhishek Banerjee, jokingly referring to it as the most expensive improvisation in history, told Fever FM that Rajkummar Rao’s spontaneous inclusion of the ‘Low Low Low’ segment from Rema’s popular song, proved to be a costly endeavour. The filmmakers had to acquire the music rights for this unplanned improvisation at a staggering cost of Rs 25 lakh.
Earlier, in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Abhishek Banerjee had shared his thoughts on working with Akshay Kumar in the film. He said, “It was just one day [for the shoot] but I had been waiting for that one day for probably 25 years of my life, since I started watching Akshay Kumar’s films. Since I have watched ‘Khiladi’, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’, ‘Sabse Bada Khiladi’, ‘Mr and Mrs Khiladi’, ‘Mohra’ [all these films]. I used to be a huge Akshay Kumar fan.”
Abhishek plays the role of Jana in ‘Stree 2’. He is joined by Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Shraddha Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi in the film. The film is successfully running in theatres with a massive box office turnover.
