PM speaks to Joe Biden, discusses Ukraine trip, safety of Hindus in Bangladesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to United States President Joe Biden and discussed the ongoing crisis in countries like Bangladesh and Ukraine.

Taking to X, the Prime Minister said that he had a telephonic conversation with Joe Biden and detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine.

During his chat with Biden, PM Modi reiterated India’s full support for an early return of peace and stability in the war-torn country.

“Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden on phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability,” PM Modi posted on X.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister discussed the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh and stressed the need for an early restoration of normalcy in the neighbouring country.

The two world leaders also deliberated on the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh as the country continues to witness violent clashes after the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government.
