PlinkSport LLP Organised the PlinkSport Field Plinking Championship, 2024 [Season 4]
PlinkSport LLP organised the PlinkSport Field Plinking Championship at the CBR 4 Cricket Ground in Gurugram from 14th to 17th November 2024.
This event was an open tournament for recreational airgun target shooting, popularly known as “plinking” across the world. The event and its game format were designed by PlinkSport LLP to promote recreational airgun shooting as a structured tournament format in India.
Airgunners from across the country participated in the event, contributing to the growing community of hobby shooters. The tournament was designed to be exciting and spectator-friendly, promoting airgun plinking in a safe and healthy competitive environment, where enthusiasts could engage in an active outdoor community.
This is the 4th season of PFPC. The previous seasons were held in Gujarat and Maharashtra, and this season marked its debut in the northern states.
Championship Categories:
The championship featured the following categories: Pre-charged pneumatic rifles
Spring-powered airguns CO2 pistols/revolvers
Participants ranged in age from 11 years to over 60, coming from all walks of life.
Exhibits and Displays
A variety of airguns and accessories were on display, presented by Aman Airgun India, a leading airgun store based in Delhi. Kiehberg/Syndicate Innovations International Ltd, a prominent airgun importer, also showcased their range of merchandise to facilitate enthusiasts interested in the hobby. An Indian manufacturer, Valourous Sports, introduced their newly launched made-in-India PCP airgun, the “Vertigo”, at the event.
Registration and Walk-Ins
Registrations were primarily conducted online, but arrangements were made for on-the-spot registrations to accommodate walk-in enthusiasts.
Voices from the Event
Ashwani Philip, an active member of the shooting sport community, remarked:
“Since the earlier events were held in the western states, I was eagerly looking forward to this happening in the north. It will greatly promote recreational target shooting as a family sport and encourage responsible gun ownership.”
Harvinder Sethi from Kiehberg stated:
