Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel was released in theatres on February 7. The Telugu film, co-starring Sai Pallavi, was critically acclaimed by both audiences and critics for its emotionally charged narrative and gripping performances by the cast.

The film captured the hearts of audiences worldwide and entered the prestigious 100 crore club at the box office. Naga Chaitanya and the Thandel team left no stone unturned in making this film. They truly poured their heart into its creation, and a prime example of their dedication and hard work was in the song Namo Namah Shivaya.

As per reports doing the rounds, both Naga Chaitanya and the female lead of the film, Sai Pallavi, underwent intense rehearsals for the song. The choreography, which was slightly different from typical dance styles, demanded extra effort and precision from both actors. They practised rigorously for almost eight to nine days before the final shot was filmed. After 8 days of intense practice and perseverance, their hard work paid off, and the final shot was taken.

The highly anticipated Telugu film Thandel met the soaring expectations of fans. Amid the overwhelming response across social media, Naga Chaitanya’s father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, also took to social media to express his immense pride in his son. Sharing a heartfelt note on X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna dropped a touching picture of himself embracing Naga Chaitanya, alongside the official poster of Thandel. With the post, he penned, “Dear @chay_akkineni, Proud of you, my son! I have watched you push boundaries, face challenges, and give your heart to the craft. Thandel is not just another film—it is a testament to your relentless passion, your courage to dream big, and your hard work.”

“To all the Akkineni fans—you have stood by us like family, and Thandel’s success is as much yours as it is ours. Thank you for your endless love and support! Gratitude,” he added.

Based on a real-life incident from 2018, Thandel revolves around a group of fishermen from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, who inadvertently crossed into Pakistani waters and were detained. It shows the struggles of the fishermen, their time spent in jail, and the emotional and inspirational journey they embarked upon. The film also features a love story between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, which was inspired by the real-life couple involved in the incident.

Written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, with a soulful playlist by Devi Sri Prasad, the soul-breaking story deeply resonated with audiences, evoking strong emotions and leaving many viewers teary-eyed as they left the theatres.
