Mr and Mrs Mahi trailer: Cricket, romance clash in this Rajkummar-Janhvi film

The first full trailer of Mr and Mrs Mahi is here, and the movie promises an exciting clash of cricket and romance.

Directed by Gunjan Saxena director Sharan Sharma, the film stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. In the released promo, the actors are portrayed as a married couple who also happen to be cricket enthusiasts.

While Janhvi Kapoor is a doctor who loves watching and playing cricket, Rajkummar’s character is shown as an aspiring cricketer who couldn’t make his name in the field (pun intended).

As soon as the trailer was released, a number of people commented underneath it and praised the actors. One user wrote, “Rajkumar and Janhvi looking like a real couple. So beautiful.” Another commented, “Janhvi Kapoor has poured her heart and Rajkummar looks so good. Theatres will rock this year.” While many others posted heart emojis in the comment box.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is bankrolling the film, had previously spoken about the movie and said, “Some films are more than just stories. They are so much more than celluloid love. They talk to the viewer about dreams and how often people closest to us can come in the way of our dreams. Mr and Mrs Mahi is exceptionally close to our hearts.”

Interestingly, this is the second time Janhvi is collaborating with Sharan Sharma, who had directed her in Netflix’s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Mr and Mrs Mahi will release in cinemas on May 31.
