Actor-model Milind Soman was surprised to discover discrepancies on his Wikipedia page, which carried two separate birth dates, both incorrect. It also claimed that he was booked for running nude on the beach.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Milind Soman shared screenshots of the factual errors on his Wikipedia page, prompting a wry response from his wife, Ankita Konwar.
Sharing a screenshot of his incorrect birth dates, he wrote, “Has someone hacked Wikipedia? Apparently, I was born last year on two different days.” Highlighting the bit about him being booked for his nude jog, he wrote, “Apparently I also got booked for running nude on a beach????? I mean, I mean, I did run and the pic is on my Instagram page, but booked????” He added the hashtags ‘wiki wake up’ and ‘little wiki lies’.
Apparently I also got booked for running nude on a beach ????? I mean, I mean, I did run and the pic is on my instagram page, but booked.
Ankita Konwar joked that misinformation is all-pervasive these days. “Hahaha well if the news channels don’t care to verify anything anymore why should wiki care they actually printed this sh*t. Btw according to them I should be 20 this year.”
In November, the south Goa Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kumar Singh confirmed to Hindustan Times that the actor was booked under section 294 (obscenity) of the Indian Penal Code, along with other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
On November 4, Milind Soman had uploaded a photo on Twitter which showed him running naked on a Goa beach on his 55th birthday. The actor captioned the picture, clicked against the wide expanse of the ocean, as “Happy Birthday to me…55 and running.”
