Laal Singh Chaddha box office collection Day 5: Aamir Khan’s film sinks further in extended weekend

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s film Laal Singh Chaddha’s performance has been below average.

The film, which was released alongside Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, failed to perform well even during the extended weekend of August 15. According to trade reports, Laal Singh Chaddha minted Rs 8 crore on Monday.

Laal Singh Chaddha’s box office collection has been shocking, to say the least. Be it bad word of mouth or clash with Raksha Bandhan, Aamir’s film has been a disappointment. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Laal Singh Chaddha has collected Rs 46 crore. In 5 days, the film failed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark.

Overseas, the film has collected $4 million.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks. The Hindi adaptation features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in crucial roles.

Even before its release, Laal Singh Chaddha made headlines due to multiple controversies. Netizens called for a boycott of the film over statements made by Aamir and Kareena in the past. The two stars requested fans not to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha and asked them to watch the film in theatres.
