Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth congratulated Suriya's Soorarai Pottru and other National Film Award winners. They penned special notes on social media.
The winners of the 68th National Film Awards were announced on Friday, July 22. Ever since, social media has been flooded with congratulatory notes for the celebs.
Who won big at the awards. South superstars Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth also took to their official Twitter accounts to pen sweet notes for the winners.
KAMAL HAASAN, RAJINIKANTH CONGRATULATE NATIONAL AWARD WINNERS
Kamal Haasan took to his offical Twitter account and wrote, “I am proud that Soorarai Pottru has won five National Awards. Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum, Mandela made Kollywood proud. Tamil film industry bagged 10 awards in total. My heartfelt wishes to all the winners (sic).”
Rajinikanth also tweeted, “My heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to Suriya, Soorarai Pottru director and other winners who won National Film Awards (sic).”
ABOUT THE NATIONAL AWARDS
The winners of the 68th National Film Awards were announced on Friday, July 22. Earlier, the National Film Awards ceremony was held in May. However, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, last time it was delayed by a year and this year it was also delayed by a couple of months. The names of the winners were announced on July 22 in a press conference at the National Media Centre, New Delhi.
The National Award for Best Actor was won by Suriya for Soorarai Pottru and Ajay Devgn for Tanhaji, while Aparna Balamurali won the Best Actress Award for her performance in Soorarai Pottru. The National Award for Most Film-Friendly State was awarded to Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh received special mention. The jury of this category was headed by filmmaker Priyadarshan.
