Chennai all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scripted history in the Indian Premier League by achieving a unique record in the tournament.

Jadeja became the first ever player in the tournament to have achieved 1000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches in the competition. Jadeja reached his feat with two catches and three wickets on the day. The all-rounder was sharp in the pitch, grabbing two catches off Phil Salt and Shreyas Iyer. But Jadeja’s more important contribution came with the ball, where the spinner dismissed Sunil Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Venkatesh Iyer on the day.

Ravindra Jadeja returned to form in the Indian Premier League 2024 with a terrific spell against KKR on Monday, April 8. Jadeja walked into bowl outside of the powerplay and had an immediate impact. The hosts were struggling after KKR were off to a terrific start in the powerplay, but Jadeja got things under control with his four-over spell and broke the back of the KKR batting line-up.

In his first over vs KKR, Jadeja picked the wickets of Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine, two set batters for the visiting team. The spinner kept things tight and managed to pick the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer in the 9th over as well. Jadeja registered a spell of 4-0-18-3 in the game. Jadeja had struggled with the ball in the previous four matches and had only picked up 1 wicket prior to this game.

The bowling outing at Chepauk will give a lot of confidence to Jadeja, who has been constantly criticised this season. Not only with the ball, Jadeja has been under scanner for his performance with the bat as well.
