Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mohsin Khan bowled a terrific final over to deny Mumbai Indians a victory at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, 16 May.

Defending 11 runs of the final over, Mohsin nailed in yorker out of yorker to dig LSG out of trouble after they had conceded 19 runs off the penulatimate over of the match.

Mohsin spoke about his bowling after the game and revealed that the condition of his sick father was playing in the back of his mind and hoped that his father was proud of what he had managed to pull off.

“The aim is to execute what I was practising and I backed my strengths and did that,” a tired Mohsin said after the game.

LSG captain Krunal Pandya was seen time and again walking up top Mohsin to give him instructions. Asked about what the chat was about, Mohsin said that he was telling hi captain that he knew what to do.

“The run up was same but it looked shorter. I was calming myself and keeping it simple. Always thought of bowling good balls. I was thinking about bowling slower balls. Then I thought they were ready and so I mixed it up,” Mohsin said after the game.

Khan is playing after a full-year injury layover. He had an operation done on his shoulder and returned to play in the Indian Premier League. Mohsin said that it has been a tough time, not only for him but also for his father who was hpospitalised for the last 10 days.

“Playing after one year. Recovered from injury. Plus thought about my dad as he is in hospital for the last 10 days. I am thinking about him a lot. Hope he is happy with my performance. Plus, thanks to the team for believing in me to deliver under pressure,” Mohsin concluded.
