The Ministry of External Affairs condemned the breach of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Tripura’s Agartala on Monday during protests against the arrest of a Hindu monk in Bangladesh.
“The incident earlier today of the breach of premises at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala is deeply regrettable. Diplomatic and consular properties should not be targeted under any circumstances,” it said in a statement.
The ministry added that the government is taking action to step up security arrangements for the High Commission of Bangladesh in Delhi and other Deputy and Assistant High Commissions across the country.
