IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Preview: India aim to seal series against Australia on the back of flawless Indore record

India and Australia are all set to lock horns in the second game of the three-match ODI series on Sunday, September 23 at the Holkar International Stadium in Indore.

With only two matches left before the World Cup 2023, winning the bilateral may not be on the priority list for the Men in Blue. Rather, they would want to look at the performances of some players going into the mega event, which is scheduled to start on October 5.

Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami performing well in the first game would have done their confidence a world of good. KL Rahul also looked in good rhythm, having scored a hundred followed by a half-century at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

India have a tremendous record in Indore, having won all six of their ODIs thus far. Back in September 2017, India beat the Aussies by five wickets when the two teams met at the Holkar Stadium.

As far as the Aussies are concerned, there are no updates on Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc’s return. Pat Cummins and Co. may not risk the two players keeping in mind the World Cup.

The visitors, in the meantime, would want their batters to convert their starts. In the first ODI, which they lost by five wickets, a number of their batters got into the 20s, 30s and 40s, but none of them could go on and score big.

Mitchell Marsh, who has been in stupendous form of late, missed out in the series opener. He will want to make amends with a match-winning knock in Indore.
