Earlier predictions suggested that Karnataka would face above-normal temperatures this summer, though not exceeding 35 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, the IMD forecasted hot and humid weather for Kerala, the Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry over the next five days. On Thursday, Rayalaseema recorded temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

In a long-range forecast, the IMD predicted above-normal temperatures for Andhra Pradesh this summer, anticipating more heatwave days than usual. In 2023, Andhra Pradesh saw 21 heatwave days, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 46 degrees Celsius.
