Stree 2 box office Day 7: Film overtakes ‘RRR’ Hindi, to hit Rs 300 crore mark
The horror-comedy Stree 2, led by actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is performing well at the box office even on weekdays.
The film is on its way to joining the Rs 300 crore club and has already surpassed box office blockbusters like Kabir Singh, Tanhaji, Tiger 3, and Dhoom 3.
After earning Rs 269.2 crore till Tuesday, August 20, Stree 2 swiftly made another Rs 20 crore on Wednesday, August 21, reported industry tracker Sacnilk. The film’s total box office collection in seven days is approximately Rs 289 crore, which is more than the lifetime collection of SS Rajamouli’s RRR (Hindi version). The Jr NTR and Ram Charan film earned Rs 274.31 crore in the Hindi-speaking market.
Stree 2 has also crossed the lifetime earnings of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 (Rs 285.52 crore), Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra (Rs 257.44 crore), Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 (Rs 284.27 crore), Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji (Rs 279.55 crore), and Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore). Globally, the Amar Kaushik-directed film has already zoomed past the Rs 350 crore mark.
Reflecting on Stree 2’s box office performance on its second weekend, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on X, “The horror-comedy shows no signs of slowing down and is on track to hit ₹ 300 cr mark by the end of its extended Week 1… With #Janmashtami holiday on Mon, #Stree2 is expected to deliver massive numbers in Weekend 2 as well… #Stree2 is a ONE-HORSE RACE at the #Boxoffice (sic).”
