Expanding Horizons In Asia & Africa AACCI Facilitates Trade & Business Growth

The Asian African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI), a bilateral chamber spanning across Asian and African countries, successfully organized its 4th High-Level Diplomats’ Meet on June 24, 2023, at the India International Centre in New Delhi.

The primary objective of this diplomatic gathering was to facilitate a platform that brings together country representatives and business owners, fostering increased trade between Asia and Africa. By creating a space for collaboration and shared goals, the event aimed to unite opportunities and investors under one roof.

The meet not only presented numerous commercial prospects in participating countries but also provided a roadmap for tapping into these opportunities for mutual benefit and community development. Given the strong global presence of Asia and Africa in recent years, both continents hold great promise for future generations.

The enthusiasm demonstrated by business leaders and investors during the 4th High-Level Diplomats’ Meet further contributed to its success.

The event commenced with an address by the Founder & President of AACCI, Dr G D Singh, who emphasized the importance of information flow for regional growth. Dr Singh urged all diplomats to commit to collective actions and collaboration for the cumulative growth of Asia and Africa. He expressed hope that the 4th High-Level Diplomats’ Meet would foster a renewed sense of togetherness among the countries, ushering in a new era of sustained and inclusive economic growth.

The meet was attended by Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Trade Consuls from partnering embassies, and dynamic business leaders from various industries, all of whom showcased a keen interest in foreign trade and investment.

The event aimed to break barriers between countries and cultivate an atmosphere of mutual growth. It provided a platform for high-level dialogues, one-on-one discussions, presentations, and more, all within a balanced business and social environment. Business delegates, eager to invest or expand their ventures in partnering countries, had the opportunity to explore trade, investment, and business prospects.

Key country representatives who participated in this High-Level Diplomats’ Meet included H.E. Mr. Gabriel P. Sinimbo – High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia; H.E. Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung – Ambassador of the Republic of The Union of Myanmar; H.E. Mr. Basil H Tokinai – High Commissionar of the Republic of Togo; H.E. Mr. Md. Abdillahi Migul – High Commissionaire of the Republic of Djibouti ; Mr. Afonso Jose – Sr. Counsellor from Ambassador-Designate from the Embassy of the Republic of Angola; Mr. Vladimir Poghosyan – Consul, 2nd secretary from the Republic of Armenia; Mr. Thabang Linus Kholumo – Hon’ble Counsellor from the High Commission of the Kingdom of Lesotho; H.E. Ms. Nomusa Mugwambi – Counsellor (Trade) of the Republic of Zimbabwe; Mr. Emile Mwepesi – Deputy High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda, Mr Bui Thuong – Sr. Counsellor from the Republic of Vietnam and Md. Shapul Alam – Political Counsellor from the Republic of Bangladesh.

Among others were Amb. Mahesh Sachdev – former Indian Ambassador and currently the President of AACCI;  Mr. Manohar S Singh – Chairman, Acemanbas (India) Consultants Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Selamawit Zemene Mewosha – Founder and CEO of Signum Company Limited & Chapter President of AACCI, KENYA; Dr. Jitendra Sharma – MD & Founder CEO of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone and Dr. Amit Tareenja– Director- Global Learning & Development of Tata Communications Ltd.

The attending diplomats strongly emphasized the need to unite and embrace prosperity and growth within an environment that rejects hatred and animosity. They conveyed the message that it is imperative for all parties to join hands and work together towards common goals, fostering an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual benefit.

As a significant highlight of the event, three significant Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed. These agreements were strategically designed to facilitate collaboration and propel inclusive growth within the chamber network.

They symbolized a pivotal leap forward in the joint pursuit of sustainable development and the advancement of the business ecosystem. These collaborative endeavours aimed to forge robust partnerships, harness diverse expertise, and leverage the power of synergy to drive tangible progress and accomplish shared objectives. These MOUs marked a significant milestone in fostering a conducive environment for collective growth and establishing a solid foundation for long-term success.

The fruitful conclusion of the meeting engendered a sense of optimism for future endeavours, as the seeds of progress were carefully planted throughout a day filled with insightful discussions, explorations, and opportunities for assessment.
