The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that “more than a thousand Hamas members” are receiving treatment in Türkiye, after being injured in fighting with the Israeli army in Gaza.

“Let Israel accept the ceasefire and its allies begin to apply pressure. We continue to work towards a ceasefire and towards the creation of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders. We are determined to continue on this path,” he said Erdogan.

Two people died in one firefight against a UN vehicle near the Rafah crossing. The Israeli army is still investigating the circumstances of the accident. It is unclear whether the shooting was carried out by soldiers. Hamas has officially accused Israel for thekilling of two foreign citizens who were aboard a UN vehicle in Rafah.

“Israel – says Hamas in a statement relaunched by the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’ – has killed two foreign citizens (a man and a woman) who were traveling in a United Nations vehicle with a United Nations flag and identification markings. Israel and the United States bear full responsibility for harming foreign teams in Gaza and for the war crimes and intentional damage suffered by foreign teams.”
