‘Crisis in ideas’: AAP accuses Congress of copying their welfare schemes
Amid the Congress' silence on the Centre's ordinance on control of services in Delhi, AAP national spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the grand old party of copying ideas from them.
The national spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Cabinet minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Thursday accused the Congress party of copying their ideas.
“The oldest party of the country, the Indian National Congress, not only has a crisis of leaders but a crisis of ideas too. After mocking Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP for their welfare schemes related to water and electricity, and free bus rides for women, it is now copying our ideas,” said Bharadwaj.
The AAP leader accused the Congress party of copying Arvind Kejriwal’s renaming poll manifestos as ‘guarantees’. “Congress has stolen even this word,” he said.
Bhardwaj’s criticism of the Congress party comes against the backdrop of the grand old party’s lack of support towards AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal in his protest against the Centre’s ordinance on control of services in Delhi. The Delhi Congress unit had suggested that the party leadership should not speak on the issue.
Answering a question about the Centre’s ordinance, Bharadwaj said the central government wants to stall the work of the elected government in the national capital. He alleged that surgeries in private hospitals throughout Delhi hospitals are being halted and attempts are being made to “uproot people” living in JJ clusters.
