‘Crew’ box office Day 8: Kareena Kapoor film inches closer to Rs 50 crore-mark

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon’s heist comedy film, ‘Crew’, is slowly marching towards the Rs 50-crore mark at the domestic box office. On Friday, a week since its release.

The film remained steady and earned Rs 3.60 crore, as per early estimates. With this, the film’s total net domestic collection after the first week, came to Rs 47.35 crore.

Released on March 29, ‘Crew’ had an overall 14.30 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday, April 5. Following the trend witnessed during the rest of the week, the maximum footfall was registered for the night shows (23.3 per cent). The film maintained its dominance in the urban centres like Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad. Now, the film is expected to pick up pace once again on its second weekend, with no major releases in sight.

Next, ‘Crew’ will face stiff competition from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’. Both the films will hit theatres on April 10.

‘Crew’ is a heist comedy film directed by Rajesh A Krishnan. The film hit theatres on March 29 amidst massive anticipation from fans. While Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon play lead roles, Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma play supporting roles. The film is written by Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri.

‘Crew’ is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network. The film is on its way to becoming a profitable venture for all the producers and distributors.
