Atiq Ahmed complains of health issues at Prayagraj jail, sleepless before court hearing

Jailed Atiq Ahmed complained about health issues at Prayagraj jail on Thursday.

Following his complaint, a team of two doctors examined his condition and gave him medicines related to blood pressure. His blood pressure had shot up and he told the doctors that he was having difficulty in sleeping and that he hadn’t slept for more than two hours in the jail barracks. He also complained of heat in the cell.

Later today, Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf will appear before the CJM district court in the Umesh Pal murder case at around 11:00 am. A court order will designate the two as accused in the killing of Umesh Pal, who was a witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005.

Uttar Pradesh Police is likely to seek a 14-day remand of the two during the hearing.

Atiq is the prime accused in the killing of Umesh Pal, who was a witness in the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005. Atiq is also an accused in the Raju Pal murder case.
