Virat Kohli was left absolutely fuming and lashed out at the umpires after he was dismissed in bizarre fashion during the KKR vs RCB clash at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21.
Kohli was looking in fine form on the day as he had scored 18 off 7 deliveries before a Harshit Rana slower delivery caused his downfall. However, the RCB batter wasn’t happy at all with what would happen next.
Rana had completed the catch cleanly and it seemed like everyone, even in the commentary box felt that it was a no-ball. The umpires took a review and the third umpire would clear the delivery for height and it resulted in Kohli’s dismissal. The RCB star was left confused with what had happened and it quickly descended into anger. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was also seen in an animated chat with the umpires.
Kohli had initially walked off but returned to give the umpires a mouthful before walking out. The RCB star was seen shaking his head while walking off and talking to his bench as KKR got their first strike. Kohli had looked to be in fine nick on the day as he had hit two sixes and a boundary. This would include a no-look shot off Mitchell Starc as RCB were chasing 223 to win the match.
How well did KKR bat against RCB?
KKR were put into bat by RCB at the Eden Gardens and Phil Salt gave them the perfect start. Salt scored 48 off 14 balls, where he had taken Lockie Ferguson to the cleaners with a 28-run over. KKR would lose a few quick wickets before Shreyas Iyer hit his 20th IPL fifty.
Late cameos from Ramandeep Singh and Andre Russell would power KKR to 222 in their 20 overs.
