Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill in Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2. Makers share new posters

Actor Ananya Panday has officially joined the cast of Akshay Kumar’s Kesari: Chapter 2. On March 28,

The makers shared the announcement with a motion poster of Panday, introduced as Dilreet Gill. The period drama revolves around the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Dharma Productions, the film’s official production house, introduced Ananya Panday’s character Gill, stating, “Uss din Jallianwala Bagh mein jo hua, uska sach poori duniya ko pata chalna chahiye.” Dressed as a lawyer in a white saree, the caption to the powerful motion poster read, “Embraced by compassion, fuelled by justice. Introducing Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill in Kesari – Chapter 2 (sic).”

Ananya’s best friends Navya Nanda and Suhana Khan, her mother Bhavana Pandey, actor Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Maheep Kapoor, among others cheered for her in the comment section.

The official teaser of Kesari: Chapter 2 was unveiled earlier this week. The film is based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat. Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, the film also stars R Madhavan. It will hit theatres on April 18, 2025.
