Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday took a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah over.
The rise in crime in the national capital, saying Shah is busy with elections while Delhi is under the control of gangsters. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief’s comments came after the city saw two separate murders on Saturday.

The Delhi Police falls under the jurisdiction of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, while the city’s government is run by Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP.
The former Delhi Chief Minister was specifically referring to the two recent murders– a trader shot dead by bike-borne assailants while out for a morning walk in northeast Delhi’s Shahdara, and a man fatally stabbed during a brawl in south Delhi’s Govindpuri.
“Delhi’s law and order situation is in shambles. This morning, in Vishwas Nagar, Sunil Ji (Jain) was gunned down in broad daylight. How have criminals become so fearless?” he asked.
The AAP chief claimed that he personally knows many businessmen who are leaving Delhi due to extortion calls.
“Women are unsafe in Delhi, rape and murder cases following rapes are being reported. The Delhi Police is failing to protect the residents of Delhi,” Kejriwal alleged.
He further charged, “Delhi voters entrusted us with the responsibility of fixing schools and hospitals. The only responsibility the voters gave to the BJP was law and order. Things have gone beyond their control”.
Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also alleged that residents, traders, women, and the elderly, live in constant fear in Delhi as he pointed to gang wars, extortion threats, and shootings over unpaid debts as prevalent issues.
The 52-year-old utensil trader, who had gone out for a morning walk, was shot dead in Shahdara by assailants who fired 7-8 rounds at him. Meanwhile, in Govindpuri, one person was killed and two others were injured during a brawl between two groups over the cleanliness of a common toilet.
