Ahead of their youngest son Anant Ambani’s wedding, Nita and Mukesh Ambani organised a mass wedding for over 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra’s Palghar on July 2.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will get married on July 12 in Mumbai. The mass wedding function, meanwhile, was held at the Reliance Corporate Park in Thane with around 800 people representing the families of the couples. Nita and Mukesh Ambani, along with Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, and Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, were present at the event.

Each couple was presented with gold ornaments, including mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings. They also received silver ornaments, such as toe rings and anklets. In addition, each bride was presented a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh as her ‘streedhan.’

The couples also received groceries and household items sufficient for a year, including a variety of 36 essential items and utensils, appliances such as a gas stove, mixer and fan, as well as a mattress and pillows.

A grand dinner was organised, while guests were also invited to witness the traditional Tarpa dance performed by the Warli Tribe, adding a rich cultural experience to the evening.

A firm believer of the principle “manav seva hi madhav seva (service to humanity is service to God),” the Ambani family has a tradition of beginning every major family occasion by providing for and serving others, thereby reinforcing their commitment to the community.

Meanwhile, Anant Ambani’s wedding festivities commenced with an intimate puja ceremony at the Ambanis’ Mumbai residence, Antilia, on June 29. The couple will get married on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Their wedding, spanning over three days, features three events – ‘Shubh Vivaah’ followed by ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ on July 13 and ‘Mangal Utsav’ or the wedding reception on July 14.
