The Akshay Kumar-starrer Oh My God 2 has been sent to the Censor Board’s revising committee to ensure that the dialogues and scenes in the film do not create any issues.

Sources told India Today that the Censor Board does not want to repeat the backlash that Adipurush faced over its dialogues and has now taken “preemptive measures” to avoid it.

The Censor Board will send any movie dealing with subjects like God or religion for review and revision, added the source.

Om Raut’s Adipurush faced heavy criticism over the dialogues used in the film and the poor VFX quality. The filmmakers released a revised version of the film after changing some of the dialogue. ‘Adipurush’ dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir also wrote an apology on social media following the backlash.

So far, there is no clarity yet about what scenes or dialogues in Oh My God 2 caused concern to the censor board. Once the film goes to the revision committee, the censor board will take a decision on the movie.

The film, directed by Amit Rai, features Akshay Kumar in the avatar of Lord Shiva. OMG 2 will also feature Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil of Ramayan fame. It will release in theatres on August 11. The satirical comedy drama is a sequel to the 2012 hit film ‘OMG- Oh My God!’
