Amid Arvind Kejriwal’s questioning by the CBI, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Delhi convenor Gopal Rai has called an emergency meeting at the party office in the national capital.

“The party is apprehensive of Kejriwal’s arrest,” AAP sources said.

AAP national secretary Pankaj Gupta, Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi and Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal are among those who are attending the meeting. All office bearers, district presidents, national secretaries and party leaders have also been asked to attend the meeting.

The emergency meeting comes as several workers protesting against Kejriwal’s CBI questioning were detained by the Delhi Police.

AAP leaders Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Jasmine Shah and other party members were among those who were detained.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the CBI on Sunday for questioning in the liquor policy scam case amid tight security outside the CBI headquarters.

Over 1,000 security personnel were deployed outside the CBI headquarters. Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in the area to ensure no gathering of more than four persons takes place, officials said.
