India at Paralympics 2024, Day 4 schedule: Avani, Preethi return to action

Indian Paralympians Avani Lekhara and Preethi Pal are poised to secure their second medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics as they compete in their respective events on Sunday.

Lekhara will partner with Sidharth Banu in the mixed 10m air rifle Prone SH1 event, showcasing their precision and skill in shooting. Meanwhile, Pal returns to the Stade de France track to compete in the women’s 200m T35 race, aiming to add another accolade to her Paralympic achievements.

On September 1, marking Day 4 of the Games, Sukant Kadam will battle compatriot Suhas Yathiraj in the semi-finals of the men’s badminton singles SL4 category. Regardless of the match outcome, India is guaranteed a medal in this event, highlighting the country’s strong presence in Paralympic badminton.

Additionally, Nitesh Kumar will strive to contribute to India’s medal tally by competing in the semi-final of the men’s badminton singles SL3 category. His performance could further enhance India’s standing in the sport. India’s medal prospects also include Ravi Rongali in the men’s shot put, alongside Nishad Kumar and Ram Pal in the men’s high jump events.
