Encounter breaks out between security forces, terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore

An encounter broke out on Thursday between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore.

A joint team of police and the Army launched a search operation in Nowpora after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As the team approached the suspected spot, the terrorists who were in hiding fired on the forces, triggering a gunfight.

Two foreign terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area, as per sources.

This comes a day after an Army jawan was injured in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora.

A gunfight broke out between the terrorists and security forces while the personnel were conducting a house-to-house search in Chintibandi village.

Security forces launched an operation in the area after receiving input about a terrorist hideout.
