Rohan Bopanna has set his goals clear and is looking forward to performing well in the Paris Olympics 2024.

The veteran recently became the oldest to win a Grand Slam after he won the men’s doubles title with Matthew Ebden on Saturday at the Rod Laver Arena. Bopanna recently became the oldest World No.1 in doubles at the age of 43 after he won his quarterfinal match at Melbourne Park.

The Paris Olympics will feature 32 teams with a maximum of 2 from every country. The top 10 players in the ATP rankings will qualify for the doubles, but they need to have partners, who should be inside the top 300.

Bopanna, in the meantime, is looking for a partner for the upcoming event, which is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.

Rohan Bopanna on ‘real boost’ ahead of Paris Olympics
“The number one thing that has reignited is that we have a men’s doubles team definitely going to Paris and that is a real boost. I knew by the end of last year that I had to remain in the top 10 to give ourselves a chance to even qualify. And now, after winning this Grand Slam, I know for sure I will remain in the top 10. So we definitely have a spot at the Paris Olympics,” Bopanna told India Today.

“And there is an equal chance. I mean, you could easily end up having the best week. As you know, last week has just proven and how you know, things can really change. And that’s the most important part. And we have good players from which I can now find a way to figure out who I can play with and choose the right partner for it,” he added.

Earlier, Bopanna ruled out chances of him taking part in mixed doubles. Back in 2016, he could not win a medal in the Rio Olympics after losing the semi-final alongside Sania Mirza.
