Ahead of the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram’s Lalla idol in the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Indian diaspora illuminated New York’s Times Square with spectacular celebrations.

Sharing the photos and videos of the celebrations, the Consulate General of India in New York said, “Indian Diaspora illuminated Times Square with a spectacular celebration of the Pran-Prathistha at Ram Mandir, Ayodhya. #AyodhyaRamTemple,” in a post on X.

“Dressed in traditional Indian attire, they passionately chanted bhajans and songs, showcasing India’s cultural heritage, vibrancy, and unity,” it added.

In the photos, members of the Indian diaspora can be seen gathered in New York’s Times Square, waving saffron flags with ‘Jai Sri Ram’ written on them.

People were also seen donning traditional attire, dancing, singing bhajans.

The temple town of Ayodhya is all set to welcome Lord Ram, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to participate in the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Mandir on Monday.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the idol of Ram Lalla—the childhood form of Lord Ram—will be attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of major spiritual and religious sects of the country, representatives of various tribal communities, and prominent personalities.
