Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar challenged actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea over ‘intimidating’ letters sent to her by him in an application in a Patiala court on December 22.

In his application, Chandrashekhar stated, “I would also make it clear that as the applicant (Jacqueline Fernandez) has alleged, that I have outraged her modesty or tried to threaten or intimidate her, is completely false and this has been filed with a malafide intention by the applicant.”

This comes after Jacqueline Fernandez moved a Delhi court seeking protection from intimidation from Sukesh Chandrashekhar. In her plea, the actress sought to restrain Chandrashekhar from issuing any communication pertaining to her, directly or indirectly, to media.

The “unsolicited dissemination” of the “troubling letters” to the media created a “distressing environment” for her, the plea said. Besides, these affected her safety and well-being, it said.

In response to this, Chandrashekhar in his plea, stated, “As per Jail Rule 585 I am entitled to write letters to friends, family, relations and legal advisors, I am also covered by the Right to Express and freedom of speech, even though I am incarcerated as per Law and the Constitution.”

In his plea, Chandrashekhar said that he was “ready to undergo any punishment” if even one single letter sent to Fernandez was found to be “threatening and intimidating”. He questioned why Fernandez did not approach the High Court in 2022 when he had sent her multiple letters.

Fernandez also moved Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the money laundering case against her, saying that she is an innocent victim of Chandrashekhar’s targeted attack.

In her appeal, Jacqueline, who is also an accused in the money laundering case, claimed that Sukesh trapped her.

The Delhi Police has levelled accusations against Sukesh Chandrashekar for allegedly duping Aditi Singh, the wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, of Rs 200 crore.

The charges stem from a purported promise to secure bail for Singh’s incarcerated husband in a criminal case. Actress Jacqueline Fernandez is alleged to be complicit in the laundering of the extorted funds.
