‘Animal’ box office Day 13: Ranbir Kapoor’s film holds steady

Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recently released film, ‘Animal’, is holding steady at the box office.

On December 13, the movie witnessed a slight drop in collection, but still earned in double digits. Going by the trade reports, ‘Animal’ will yet again pick up momentum during the weekend. The film has been shattering records at the box office since its release.

‘Animal’ clashed with Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ in theatres on December 1 in multiple languages. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directorial ended up as the winner in this competition.

The action drama is all set to complete two weeks in theatres. During the weekdays, the film has been seeing a gradual decline in collection. However, it has been earning in double digits in its second week. On December 13, ‘Animal is said to have minted Rs 10 crore net at the box office in India.

The 13-day total collection of ‘Animal’ now stands at Rs 467.84 crore at the domestic box office. On December 13, the film had an occupancy of 16.60 per cent in India.

Written and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ features Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri. The film is about the tumultuous relationship between a father and son. Ranbir played the role of Ranvijay, who is a ruthless man consumed by vengeance.

‘Animal’ received mixed reviews from fans and critics, with many calling the film out for glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity. However, the criticism seems to have no effect on the film’s performance at the box office.
