PM Modi to flag off 9 Vande Bharat trains across 11 states today

A day after laying the foundation stone of an international cricket stadium.

In his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off nine Vande Bharat trains across 11 states at 12.30 pm on Sunday through video conferencing.

The details of the nine Vande Bharat trains are provided below:

1. Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express
2. Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express
3. Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
4. Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express
5. Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
6. Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express
7. Rourkela- Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express
8. Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
9. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express

These nine trains will run across eleven states, which include Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat.

According to the railway ministry, the Vande Bharat trains will improve connectivity of important religious places across the country. Two Vande Bharat routes — Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri and the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai will connect the religious towns of Puri and Madurai respectively.

The Vijayawada-Chennai Vande Bharat Express will operate via the Renigunta route and will provide connectivity to Tirupati, a famous pilgrimage town.

SPECIALITIES OF VANDE BHARAT
The Vande Bharat trains are equipped with world-class amenities and advanced safety features, including Kavach technology that controls the speed of the train by automatic application of brakes in case the loco pilot fails to do so.

According to the government, the Vande Bharat trains will be the fastest on their respective routes.

“These Vande Bharat trains will be the fastest trains along the routes of their operation and will help save considerable time of the passengers. As compared to the current fastest train along the route, Rourkela- Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express and Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will be faster by about three hours; Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express by more than two-and-a-half hours; Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express by more than two hours; Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express by about one hour; and Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express by about half an hour,” the government said in a statement.

“These Vande Bharat trains will be the fastest along the routes of their operation and will help save considerable time of the passengers,” it added.
