Three people, including a teenager, were killed in a “targeted” shooting that took place near a shopping mall in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia in the US, on Saturday (local time), police said.
Homicide officers were called to the spot after receiving information of a person being shot around 1:30 pm (local time) on Evans Street in Southwest Atlanta.
According to preliminary investigation, one of the three victims — all men — had approached the two of them and opened fire. One of them even took out a pistol and returned fire, police said, Associated Press reported.
All three victims who were shot succumbed to their injuries.
One of the men was 17 years old, another was in his early 20s and the third was in his late 30s. The police did not release their identities, according to WSB-TV.
The police were investigating the motive behind the shooting, Associated Press reported.
