The BJP has come out with its third list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election scheduled to be held on May 10.
The Hubbali-Central constituency, where ex-BJP leader and Congress’s new entrant Jagadish Shettar wanted to contest, has been given to BJP general secretary Mahesh Tenginakai.
Sitting MLA Arvind Limbavali’s name has been dropped from the third list. His wife Manjula will be fighting in Mahadevpura constituency.
Karadi Sanganna Amarappa, who was threatening to quit from the Koppal constituency, has also not been given a party ticket. The BJP has offered the ticket to his daughter Manjula Amaresh to contest from Koppal.
So far, the BJP has announced 222 candidates out of the 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly. After the BJP released the first list with names of 189 candidates, party MLC and former deputy CM of Karnataka Laxman Savadi resigned from the saffron party.
After the BJP released the second list with 23 candidates, Jagadish Shettar resigned from the party on Sunday and joined the Congress on Monday.
Karnataka is set to go to the polls on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13.
