No coalitions, will fight local body elections on our own, says MNS chief Raj Thackeray

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray told party workers that they will fight local body elections.

In Maharashtra, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, on their own without forming a coalition with other parties.

The meeting was held with party workers from across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, Nasik,Thane, Palghar and Raigad. It was held to discuss the party’s strategy in the upcoming municipal election.

MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar said, “We have decided to fight local body elections alone. We have not decided on any coalition. Raj Thackeray believes that given the confusion in the Shiv Sena, people will give a mandate to MNS.”

Speaking on the Andheri East Assembly bypolls, he said the party is not nominating anyone in the election.

Raj Thackeray’s announcement comes even as the Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions of the Shiv Sena gets separate party names and symbols allotted.Uddhav Thackeray got the torch mashaal symbol and his faction of the party will be called ‘Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’, whereas Eknath Shinde got the name ‘Balasahebchi Shiv Sena’.
