The prominent minority face of the Bharatiya Janta Party, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, resigned from the post of Minority Affairs Minister this evening, a day before his Rajya Sabha tenure expires tomorrow.

At the meeting, PM Modi lauded Naqvi for his contribution to the country and its people as a minister. Along with Naqvi, the PM heaped praise on Naqvi’s Rajya Sabha colleague, Ram Chandra Prasad Singh.

The terms of the two Rajya Sabha MPs are set to end tomorrow and PM Modi’s appreciation is being seen as an indication that it was their last Cabinet meeting.

Soon after the meeting, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi met BJP president JP Nadda at the party headquarters in the national capital.
