Khatron Ke Khiladi Producer Banijay Backs Out, Host Rohit Shetty Upset As Show’s Future Uncertain: Report

Some unexpected news for Khatron Ke Khiladi fans—this year’s season might not happen at all.

The producer who usually makes the show, Banijay, has decided to leave. Just like that, he has backed out at the last minute, suggests reports. And because of this, everything’s on hold. The future of the show is now unsure, and it’s got even Rohit Shetty, who’s been the host for years, feeling pretty upset. He was all set to return with another thrilling season, and now plans have suddenly changed. In fact, a few contestants were even locked in and supposed to start shooting.

Sources close to the production house told India Today that the KKK team has decided against working on the new season currently. “A few celebrities were already locked, and others were in discussion with the team at different stages. After the producers put out their decision to the channel (Colors), the locked celebrities’ dates were also released,” the source shared.

Stars like Munawar Faruqui, Orry, Isha Malviya, Khushboo Patani (Disha Patani’s sister), and boxer Neeraj Goyat had already signed up for the new season. According to the same report, the team was even getting ready to fly out to an international location next month to start shooting.

But now, with the producer stepping away, everything is on pause. The report also mentioned that Rohit Shetty is quite upset, as he was really looking forward to the new season too.

Right now, no one knows if another company will take over or if the season will be cancelled completely.

Khatron Ke Khiladi, the Indian version of the American show Fear Factor, first aired in 2008. Akshay Kumar hosted the first, second, and fourth seasons, while Priyanka Chopra stepped in for the third. Arjun Kapoor hosted the seventh season. The rest—including the most recent one, Season 14—have all been led by Rohit Shetty, who’s become the face of the show.
