Indians Can Visit These Countries Without A Passport. Just Carry These Documents

Most of us love to travel. As soon as we get the chance, we pack our bags and set off. Some prefer to explore within their own country.

While others travel abroad. Domestic travel is relatively easy, but international trips often involve several challenges. A passport is essential, and obtaining a visa for many countries can be a hassle. However, there are some welcoming nations where Indian travellers can enjoy visa-free entry or get a visa on arrival.

Interestingly, there are a few places where Indians can travel without even needing a passport. While this may come as a surprise, it is indeed true, and many people are already aware of these destinations.

India ranks 122nd in the latest Henley Passport Index, which measures passport power. According to this index, Indian passport holders can enter 57 countries without requiring a visa. However, there are some places where Indian citizens can travel without a passport at all. Certain documents are still required, but a passport is not among them.

The two primary countries where Indians can travel without a passport are Nepal and Bhutan. There is also a specific region in Pakistan where Indians do not need a passport to visit.

Travel to Nepal and Bhutan Without a Passport
If travelling to Nepal and Bhutan by road, a passport is not required. However, a valid identity document, such as an Aadhaar card or voter ID card, is mandatory. For air travel, Nepal does not require a passport, but Bhutan does.

Best Time to plan your adventure in Nepal is March to May or September to November. Indians do not need a visa or a passport to visit Nepal.

Indian travellers can stay in Bhutan for 14 days without a visa. A passport is not required for road travel, but an entry permit must be obtained from the immigration office. Travellers must carry a voter ID card or Aadhaar card, passport-sized photos, and an entry permit.

Apart from Nepal and Bhutan, Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan is another place where Indians can visit without a passport. This corridor, opened a few years ago, allows Indian citizens to travel to the revered Sikh shrine without a passport.

However, visitors must register their travel date in advance. Entry is restricted to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara through this special corridor.
