Indian Diaspora in the UK Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Pride and Unity

London, 26th January 2025 – The Indian diaspora in the UK marked the 76th Republic Day of India with a vibrant and grand flag-hoisting ceremony in London, bringing together local politicians, community leaders, and distinguished guests.
The event was presided over by Mayor of Slough Balwinder Singh Dhillon and Mayor of Gerrards Cross Prerna Bharadwaj, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Indian community.
The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Indian tricolour, symbolizing India’s democratic values and cultural pride. Guests of honour included Jack Rankin, MP for Windsor, and Mr. Virendra Sharma, former MP for Southall, alongside Slough Council Leader Dexter Smith, who collectively emphasized the significance of Republic Day in fostering community cohesion.
