Virat Kohli’s failed once again in the Mumbai Test against New Zealand bringing his lacklustre series to an end as he scored just 1 run in the second innings on November 3, Sunday.

With this Kohli failed to score more than 100 runs in the 3-match series, a rarity for the star batter. Kohli had a poor time at the Wankhede stadium as he was run-out in the first innings on Day 1 and was looking to change things around in the second one. India had started the day looking to finish off the New Zealand innings, and they did just that as Ravindra Jadeja completed a 10-wicket haul in the match. India needed 147 runs to win the match and the start was far from ideal.

India would lose Rohit Sharma early as he went for a rash shot and Shubman Gill soon followed to the pavilion. Kohli looked to be tentative and was slowly looking to get into his stride, but Ajaz Patel had other ideas.

A superb delivery from the New Zealand spinner would force Kohli to edge the ball to slips. Kohli was dismissed with the score at 18 and India would further lose 2 more wickets and find themselves struggling to save the game at the moment.

Kohli’s disastrous time against New Zealand
Virat Kohli’s total of five runs in the Mumbai Test is his lowest score in a match where he batted in both innings, while the 13 balls he faced is the fewest he has played in a Test where he appeared in both innings. Kohli has ended up scoring just 93 runs in 6 innings against the Blackcaps at an average of 15.50.

Kohli’s highest score of 70 had come in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test.
