Karnataka election results: Counting of votes underway

May 15, 2018

With polling passing off peacefully in Karnataka, all security arrangements have been lined up to ensure Tuesday's counting of votes for the assembly polls. State police and other security personnel have turned counting centres located in different parts of the state into fortresses.

Except for candidates, agents who have authorised passes from respective political parties and media persons, the counting centres will be out of bounds for the public.

The counting of votes in the May 12 elections to 222 of the 224 assembly constituencies began at 8 am. Polling for R R Nagar seat was deferred on account of alleged electoral malpractices, while it was countermanded in Jayanagar seat following the death of the BJP candidate.
