who has been honoured with India Service Medal for the second time. A rare thing, this honour was given to President of India for his extra-ordinary service in the year of 2017-2018.
Previously, he was conferred with this honour in 2009-2010. IPS Robin Hibu is one of the most talented police officers present in Indian Police Service. He has received several awards in past.
IPS Hibu has also served in places such as Gjilane, Kosovo/Bosnia, Herzgovina, Yugoslavia. While serving in these places, IPS Hibu was working in U.N. Police as Police Commander. For an impeccable job in these area, he was awarded with U.N. Peace Medal honour. He received this award twice by legendary U.N. Secretary Kofi Annan.
IGP Hibu has not only been a front runner in his career but also he has been a flag-bearer who has been continuously working for people of North East in the capital city. The officer is known for his ability to take any work to its accomplishment. With his continuous work, he has set a benchmark for youth from across the nation including the aspirants from north east.
When IPS Hibu was quizzed on what does pulsate him apart from being amazing at work-front. He says, “travelling in less travelled roads.”
Along with wandering in less wandered area, he also has ambitions such as reaching out to distress North Eastern community as well as to empower the vulnerable bright youth of NE. His work for society and his continuous effort put in society’s direction garnered him a lot of civilian accolades in form of these many honours and awards -

As of now, Shri Robin Hibu is positioned with the President. He holds the office of IGP at President Scrretariat, South Court GF, New Delhi. This is important to note that he is the first officer from his native place to hold such an important office. He could have grabbed the opportunity earlier too and could have been luckier to serve with late APJ Kalam saab, but unfortunately he had to miss that opportunity. When he was congratulated on achievement of such great feat, he stated, “Thank you all for good wishes and prayer, which gives me strength to carry on.”
Nation as well as public service, both these things keep IGP on the go round the clock. Whether the job is odd or even, he takes every job to complete it to best of his abilities. Ranging from finding a cemetery to getting blood of a rare group arranged, being a shoulder to victims of violence or being a support to find an accommodation – he is there to be a help to north east people in each scenario.
He sets up examples and inspires young blood from the north eastern part of country to be walk on a path much noble.
